If I work as a multiple store manager for a clothing retailer, is it legal for my employer to require me to work over 40 hours in 1 week?

If so, is there a limit with which they cannot require me to work (more than 5 days? over a certain amount of hours?)? Lately I’ve been working for 6 days a week, at an average of 80-90 hours each week, with no extra compensation. I make an annual salary of $50,000.

No, there is no limit to how many hours an employee can be made to work, unless there is some limit contained in a written employment contract. If the employer is non-exempt (e.g. hourly), he or she must be paid for all hours worked, including overtime when working more than 40 hours in a week; but if the employee is an exempt salaried employee, as it appears you are, the employer does not owe him or her any additional compensation no matter how many hours he or she works.
