Can a company legally suspend me for something they suspect could have possibly been me?
I was suspended from my CNA job because I am suspected of calling Adult Protective Services for a patient about possible neglect.I received a call from my manager that I am suspended and they are taking me of the schedule pending the investigation. My manager claimed they have been caring for this patient for years and this has never happened. They suspect me because I was the only new person on this case. Which is not true and brought it to my manager’s attention. In fact there was a new RN with a wound care company that also cares for this patient. I was then told that the RN from the other company is suspended too.

If you do not have a written employment contract (including a union or collective bargaining agreement), you are an employee at will. An employee at will may be suspended (or demoted; pay or hours cut; or fired) at any time, for any reasons, including the employer's suspicions. Employees at will have essentially no rights in or to their jobs.
If you have a written employment contract, you may only be suspended in accordance with the contract's terms and provisions.
