Yes, that is perfectly legal, if understandably upsetting: an employer is allowed to have a terminated employee leave immediately, without giving her time to retrieve personal belongings, but can instead have a co-worker bring those belongings to her, or in some cases mail/Fed Ex/ship them to the employee.
