I was issued a subpoena today for something that happened 5 years ago, could I go to jail?

I was hit by a car. Can I be held in contempt if I do not show up to court, especially since I can’t remember the details of that particular incident and frankly I’ve moved passed it?

You don't give much by way of facts here. However, a subpeona is a court order to appear. If you ignore it, you can be held in contempt and jailed and/or fined.

A subpoena isued by whom and for what?  You have listed your question under "criminal defense."  Has the subpoena been issued in a criminal case?  Subpoenas should not be ignored from any source, as you could be held in contempt if you do not respond or answer.  Why don't you take it to an attorney to review and help you with it?  Good luck.
