If I was in an accident 4 years ago that was deemed my fault but I’m only just now hearing anything about it, do I still have to pay?
I did not have insurance at the time they told me they served the papers for it 1 year ago. I never received the papers the name for the signer was Jeremy. There has never been a Jeremy live at the residence they served them to. The lawyer representing the insurance company told me they could have wrote the wrong name. Either way I was not living at that address at the time and no one had my permission to sign anything on my behalf. I never received the papers.

Is it a property damage case or a personal injury action? If it is a personal injury action then there is a 2 year staute of limitations (from the date of accident). If it is for property damage then the statute of limitations is 6 years. If you were never served that is an issue and you really need to hire an attorney as soon as you can to find out what is going on. Good luck.
