What to do if I was hired through a temporary agency to work for a company that I used to work for over 20 years ago?

I got hired the first of this month but when I got to work Friday they told me that they had to let me go because I used to work for them. At the time I worked for them they were a different name. Can they let me go?

Under the laws of all states in this country since you are an independent contractor working via a temporary work agency the company that is assigned you has the option to have you work there on a temporary basis or not. In the matter that you have written about you were unfortunately rejected.
