Will I go to prison if I was arrested for possesion of heroin?

I’ve never even done heroin and was with a now ex-friend that got 2 small little bags of the crap and was going to try it for the first time. Thank God it didn’t get that far and was stopped by law enforcement and was charged with possesion of heroin. This is my first charge ever for possesion and I’m scared to death.

Under the circumstances, you may be eligable for some kind of a "diversion" program. This means that you, as a first-time offender, may receive probation and be left with a clean criminal history record. However, much will depend on the exact details of your case. Considering all that is at stake, you woud be well advised to consult with a criminal law attorney.
