If I was arrested for trespassing and it’s my first offense, will I serve jail time?

I stayed a night in jail and paid $470 to bail out. I have a court date in several weeks. I would like to know If I could receive jail time.

Although the penalty for trespassing varies from state to state, it is unlikely you will be sentenced to jail since this is your first offense.  Most likely, you will end up paying a fine and possibly doing community service.  The judge will determine your sentence.
