How can I find out about my status here in the US?
I was 11 years old when I came here to the states from Lebanon. I have worked on and off since I was 16 and have a drivers license and a SS card but I found out through E-verify and the SS office that my SSN is “technically not valid for employment” even though I have been filling my taxes every year and getting my refund without anyone saying anything the SS office has even sent me letters telling me how much money I will get once I retire. Anyway, I’m 42 years old and I have always assumed that I’m a US citizen.

Hello. Please go to the Social Security Administration (SSA) website which describes in detail the three types of Social Security cards issued by SSA. Do then go to a SSA office for further questions or concerns, and, of course, do contact any United States licensed attorney who handles Immigration law matters for assistance as need be.
