If I signed a commercial lease for rent that is now well over market value, can I close my business and move without repercussions of the landlord trying to attach my home?

My business is failing, in part due to exorbitant rent. I’ve repeatedly asked landlord to renegotiate rent as I cannot continue to pay such high rent. My landlord has refused to even listen.

I suggest that you consult with a commercial landlord tenant attorney to review the lease agreement that you signed. If you signed the document individually and not on behalf of a corporation or a limited liability company your landlord could sue you for a breach, obtain a judgment against you and record an abstract on your home from what you have written in your question.
