What to do if I shoplifted today and was given a ticket and court date?

I am 19 and do not want this petty crime to go on my records. What should I do to have the charges withdrawn?

Since you are facing a misdemeanor charge I suggest that you retain a criminal defense attorney to represent you in the matter you have written to see if you are eleigible for court probation. If you are and get court probation the charge very well will be dismissed assuming you satisfy the terms of the probation and the time period.
