I would like to take a look at your lease agreemnt but generally speaking, the owner/landlord has a right to dictate who can do work on their property.  There are licensing and insurance issues involved.  I understand that you are paying for it but if a worker is hurt on his property then he has a problem.  Come to a compromise.  Good luck.
