I recently found out that my mother and brother had died and I was never informed. I want to know who got the house as i was next of kin.
How did someone get the deed for the house when i was not notified and the house was a family house and i was not ever informed of their deaths. i would like to know who owns the house and why and what happened to the belongings of my mom and brother.

I am a lawyer in CT and practice in this area of the law. If you want to know who the owner of the house is, you can call the tax assessor in the town the property is located in. Tell them the address. The person working there will be able to give you the name of the current owner. Once you find out who that person is, you can ask that person who the lawyers were that were involved with the real estate deal. You can then ask the lawyers about the estates of you relatives as they should know how the house and belongs were transfered.
