If I pled guilty as a first offender to 2 misdemeanors and was given a year of probation but recently was notified that the DA was not going to prosecute and close the case, what does this mean?
I was given a 1 year probation and still have 4 months left. How will having my case closed effect my record?

Sometimes, in the interest of judicial economy, a prosecutor will have a defendant enter a plea to one charge and then dismiss or close the other charge. This means that you will not be prosecuted for the second charge as long as you continue to be successful on your probation. If you violate the conditions of your probation, then the prosecutor could potentially revive the charges and start moving forward again as long as the statute of limitations has not run.
