What are my rights if I paid a mechanic $400 of the $675 to fix my car but he has left it on the street in front of his house with half the engine torn apart?

He said it would take about 2 weeks; it’s been 15 weeks. He told me it was done a couple of times but it wasn’t. What are my options – small claims court?

Your best option is to contact your state's Bureau of Automotive Repair to make a complaint against this presumed licensed mechanic for faulty workmanship. This bureau fields and investigates consumer complaints as to repairs. Your other option is to consult with an attorney in your locality. One can be found on attorneypages.com.
