If I’m going to apply for deffered action, an opportunity for undocumented students and I wanted to know if having unpaid parking tickets would affect me?

That is because they will be checking criminal records. I have never been arrested or stopped by the police but i do have unpaid parking tickets. They say you won’t be able to apply If you have ever been stopped by police or arrested for, charged with, or convicted of any crime (including traffic offenses). So I want to know if tickects are included in this. They were not speeding tickets or anything like that. It was a ticket for not having a city sticker and for parking in an alley, another one for parking at a fire hydrant.

Probably not as they are not criminal offenses. However, I do recommend taking care of those as they may result in a loss of your license and registration, not to mention a civil lawsuit. For additional info feel free to write to me at [email protected]
