What are a person’s rights to enter the apartment of a deceased family member?
I live in an apartment and my neighbor, a close friend, died last Friday. His son is here trying to take care of legal matters but the landlord will not allow him in the apartment to look for the will.

So long as rent is paid in full for the rental that you have written about and your deceased neighbor's son is actually the son of the deceased neighbor, the landlord has no legal right to keep the son out of the rental. The landlord can request identification from the son and an inventory of all taken but he cannot impede access to the unit from what you have written.
