I leased an apartment that required 60 days notice to terminate the lease. My landlord re-rented 2 weeks after I moved out.

The landlord cannot collect double rent from both you and the new tenant. You are entitled to a refund for the rent you had paid after the place was re-rented. The lanldord should only keep the rent you paid for the two week period after you moved out before the place was re-rented.
