What to do if the mother of my children took off with them and will not communicate with me?

I have 2 children with my wife. We signed a notarized document in June where I gave her full custody of my daughter and she gave me full custody of our son. I moved out of state shortly after with my son and have been living there ever since. I came back last week for vacation and the mother has disappeared with both kids. She will not return my phone calls, texts or anything. My son has to be back in school on Wednesday. I’m currently in another state. What can I legally do to at least know that my children are safe and is it legal for her to have no contact with me?

I suggest that you immediately consult with a family law attorney to assist you in the matter you have written about in tracking down your children most likely with the assistance of law enforcement. It might be a situation where you might have to report the situation as an illegal abduction with respect to your son since you have a custody agreement signed by your wife as to him where you are the custodian.
