If I have a policy that if an employee leaves without 2 weeks notice, doesn’t finish out scheduled shift, or doesn’t show up they forfeit any bonuses, is this legal?

I had a kid who is 16 quit my employ without two weeks notice; I told her she forfeits any bonus she may have won.

If an employee earns an bonus and then quits without giving two (2) weeks notice, you cannot under the laws of all states in this country not pay the employee the entitled bonus. The rationale is that once a  person has earned something of value, then such is vested and required to be paid to him or her.

What you told the employee was against the law. She is entitled to her bonus.
