What to do if I got a ticket for expired tags and no proof of insurance?

I got a court date. I have never been to court and don’t know what I will need to do. Should I get a lawyer or can I just go and pay the fines?

Given the fact that you are subject to a misdemeanor charge for expired tags and no proof of insurance, I suggest that you get insurance for the vehicle, get the car's registration updated, and retain an attorney to accompany you to the court date that you have coming up.
