IfI brought a prospective tenant toa rentaland it was so cluttered with stuff that we couldn’t even walk through the house, is there anything that I can do?

I gave my tenant a 30 day notice to move and the unit is a mess.

If the rental that you own is being tended to by your tenants in a manner that it could be deemed a fire danger, you need to carefully read your presumed written lease looking for all provisions as to how the unit should be kept in that the lease controls the obligations owed to you and vice versa in the absence of conflicting state law.

If the unit is so cluttered where under the terms of the lease the tenant could be in breach then you could give him or her a thirty day notice to terminate the rental. I would also consult with a landlord tenant attorney as well about the situation hoping that the tenants vacate after thirty days. I would make sure that the tenants are on a month-to-month lease.
