What to do if I damaged a golf cart a year ago and have recently been contacted by the golf course to reimburse for repairs?

Earlier conversations with the golf course, they stated they would not use their insurance for the $2,000 repair. Am I responsible for the estimated total repair cost or the cost of their deductible if they had filed for the damage?

You are liable for the cost of repairs to the golf cart.  If the claim had been filed with the insurance carrier, you would also be liable for the golf course's deductible.

If the case is not settled, the golf course can sue you for negligence.  The case could go to Small Claims Court.
