What to do if I am the beneficiary of an out of state trust set up by my sister deceased and am having difficulty communicating with the trustee?

I have questions about the accounting of the trust’s assets and have written to the trustee (an individual) requesting this information but have not gotten an answer or any communication in well over 1 month. How should I proceed? I can supply extensive detail if appropriate.

A trustee has a fiduciary obligation to the beneficiaries of the trust.  If the trustee is not communicating with you then there may be a breach of that duty.  I would try to speak with the trustee again, this time try and call them.  If you still get no response then you may need to look in to hiring an attorney to set the ground rules, so to speak, and to look in to bringing a motion to compel the accounting.  Good luck.
