What to do if I am returning from short term disability a week and intend to resign from this employer that day?
Someone told me that I am required by federal law to work for this employer for 30 days after returning from leave or risk being asked to reimburse my employer for their portion of short term disability as well as their portion of my medical insurance for any/all doctor visits while I was out on disability. Is this in fact accurate?

Under federal and state laws if you are returning to work after being on short term disability and you intend to terminate your position with your employer upon immediate return, you do not have to worry about reimbursing your soon to be former employer any of the costs of the benefits that you received while out on disability.
