I am pleading not guilty to a trespassing ticket why would i have to fingerprint if i am not guilty?

parks and city trespassing was in my car in the parking lot which I would run every morning 5 a.m all summer in all ogdens parks never once had a problem it was 520 a.m and received a trespass citation. I am pleading not guilty but was asked to fingerprint before next court date why and do I have to if i am not guilty i am confused.

You get fingerprinted:
1) So they can run your prints through the system to see if there are any other crimes which you may be implicated in--and they are allowed to do that--this is probably the main reason at this point; and
2) As part of the intake process, in case you are remanded to custody later (e.g. if are convicted and get any jail time).
