If your mother would be coming on a visitor's visa, there is really no sponsorship.  She just needs to apply for a visitor's visa and whether or not she is granted a visa will depend on whether she can persuade the consular officer that she has no immigrant intent and that her ties to the home country are strong enough to warrant her coming back after a US visit.  Your status in the US really has very little to do with it.
