Is it legal for a jail to deny an inmate medicine as prescribed by a doctor?

I am on diazepam for symptoms of PTSD. Last week I was arrested but denied its use which resulted in uncontrolled behavior and an attack on a jail officer.

Under federal and all state law it is illegal for  jail personnel to deny an inmate mandated medication prescribed by a physician. If this is your situation, I recommend that you immediately consult with an attorney that practices in the area of state tort claims acts.
