If I’m starting a business in credit repair, should file for an EIN or LLC first?
I will be the only managing member but I may hire employees in the future.

Yes, set up the LLC before you start business, so that everything you do for your business will fall under the LLC and its liability protection--if you start business before the LLC, you increase the risk of incurring personal liability.
Set up the LLC first, then immediately get the EIN--that's the usual and best order to do things.
