How do I proceed with extending my work authorization indefinitely?

I am currently working/living in the US and am married to an American with whom I am expecting a child in May. I have an F-1 post-completion optional practical training authorization currently.

If you are already legally married to a US citizen, and you entered the US lawfully (which I am presuming you did if you have F-1 OPT now), then you can have your spouse file the immigrant visa petition on your behalf and concurrently you can apply for adjustment of status, with which you also file for employment authorization.  You will get the employment authorization within 90 days of filing and then about 4-6 months later you will have your green card interview.  Once that is approved, you will have indefinite employment authorization and travel authorization by way of the green card (permanent resident) status.
