What to do if I am 30 years old, have no previous criminal record but was arrested and charged with petit larceny for $520?

I wasn’t read my rights and I wasn’t put in handcuffs but was photographed and fingerprinted. I was given an appearance ticket and I go to court today. I do not have the means to hire a lawyer and I have been fully cooperative with the stores asset protection and the police; I’m going to pay the money back that I owe. I also received a civil letter from the store stating that I owed them money on top of what I took.i’m wondering what is going to happen when I go to court without having a lawyer and if I have to pay the civil fees along with paying back the $520?

Since you do not have the financial means to retain a criminal defense attorney concerning the petit larceny charge that you are facing you have the following options to retain legal defense: 1. contact you county public defender's office; 2. contact your nearest legal aid clinic.
