If I’m 24 and have never received child support because my custodial parent never filed for it, can I claim financial support now?

I live currently in another state. Am I too old to open my child support case? Is there any chance of opening it since my mother never filed for child support? Would she have to open this case or can I as an adult?

Unfortunately for you since there was never a child support order for your benefit issued through the court system where you are now over the age of 18 (now an adult), under the laws of all states you are precluded from receiving any retroactive child support from one parent or the other.
