How to deal with outstanding warrant

I have a warrant for uttering a worthless check in SC from 01/2012. It just
showed up on a background check…it has never shown up before. I did not even
know it existed. It will prevent me from getting a job if I do not get it
resolved. I live in DC…what should I do?

At this point, you should really consult directly with a criminal law attorney. Choose one who practices in the area of where the warrant was issued; they can best advise you further. One thing is for certain, this will affect your life - future employment, your ability to rent a place to live, certain government benenfits, etc. As you are aware, this really needs to be cleared up and as soon as possible. And remember, warrants never expire.
