This varies tremendously from one insurance company to another.  Some are pretty forgiving and will not increase your premium unless you caused an accident at the same time resulting in serious injuries.  Others will raise your rates immediately, but only a small amount.  Still others take citations fairly seriously depending on what the citation was for, and may increase your rates substantially.  I would suggest you wait and see, and then consider shopping around to see if you can do better elsewhere.
