How many days must I stay in the US to keep my H1B visa?

I want to keep my H1B visa to stay on as a full time employee but work
remotely from my home town for a large majority of the time.

You mean be outside the US?  If that is the case you do not need to have H-1B status since that is only for people who are in the US. IF you are outside the US and want to work and your employer is ok with you working from overseas, you do not need a H-1B for this.
