How long does employer have to write an employee up?
An incident with a patient occured
almost 30 days prior to employee being
written up. The option given to her was
to resign or move to another unit. The
patient is no longer in the facility,
the accusations were completely false
and nothing was said to employee.
Management said the patients perception
is more important.

Is there any employment contract or union agreement that addressed the timing of write-ups? Did the employee's treatment constitute some form of legally actionable discrimination (which you did not indicate)? If not, then a company can write a worker up when it sees fit. The fact is that a business can set the conditions of the wrorkplace much as it deems appropriate.
