The crime with which you have been charged will be either a felony or a misdemeanor.  Felonies are more serious criminal offenses that misdemeanors.  If you are uncertain whether you were charged with a felony or misdemeanor, you can look at the Penal Code section in the law library.  This will tell you whether you have been charged with a felony or misdemeanor.  Ask the law librarian to help you find the Penal Code at the law library.
