A quitclaim deed will release your entire right, title, and interest in the property to your ex-girlfriend. The quitclaim deed should be signed in the presence of a notary. Then, record the quitclaim deed with the County Recorder's Office. Record means file the quitclaim deed with the County Recorder's Office. The quitclaim deed is effective when it is recorded.
