How do I gain legal possession of a vehicle registered under my ex-husband and I?
The divorce was filed 7 years ago and he failed to respond to any of the paperwork and simply vanished. There was no division of property. There’s no way to contact him and so any notice in regards to the vehicle can’t reach him.

The way to get possession of the vehicle that you are writing about registered in the name of yourself and your former husband is to first locate it. For you to locate it, you may need to go to the nearest department of motor vehicles in your state to ascertain where the regsistered owners for it are located which would be you and whomever might be on title. From there, you would then need to do your due diligence to ,ocate it.
The problem that I see is that if registration of the vehicle was with you and your former husband, he may have transferred his share of the vehicle's ownership to a third party.
As to locating your former husband, you might need to pay to do an online search to locate him or hire a private investigator.
