You can aske the court for a "substition of counsel". However, such a change is not readly granted. That having been said, if you want to try anyway here's is what you will need to do. First you will have to write the judge that is assigned to your case askig for the change. You wll have to write a letter asking for a hearing.Ini it you will have to state the specific reasons for wanting to change; merely not liking your PD will not be enough. Be sincere and do not exaggerate the facts. As the saying goes, "Honesty is the best policy". If after reading your letter the judge feels that you have stated your case persuasivley, he will set a hearing and then depending on the outcome will or will not grant a change of attorney.

Note: Keep a copies of your letter and send one to the prosecutor on the case.
