How can I be billed for medical transport services to a different medical facility when I was deemed “not able to make conscience decisions” when on a 5150 hold?
On a 5150 hold I was considered unable to make my own choices regarding my health, so I was transported to a military hospital. After release, they consider me able again and stick me with a $5k bill.

Under the laws of all states in this country there is an overriding public policy to preserve and maintain life. Given the situation that you were in as to the 5150, you were taken to a medical facility to help you regardless if you did not give consent. I suggest that you consult with the accounting office of the hospital to set up a monthly payment plan to pay for the services rendered in an amount that you can afford if you do not have incurance to cover the costs.
