What are my rights regarding a hostile at workplace?
My hours have been cut and I feel hostility from my GM and her daughter, who is a shift manager. I have texts stating that the GM wants to fire me. I called HR and discussed the matter. They were to speak to the GM. Then the GM talked to me about my hours but she did not bring up the conversation of me being fired. I asked if HR had talked to her and she said no and denied everything regarding text.

Is this treatment due to your age, race, religion, disability, age (over 40), gender, national origin, or any other factor that qualifies as legally actionable discrimination? If not, then while unprofessional, this situation does not constitute a "hostile" workplace. The fact is that most employment relationships are "at will". This means that absent an employment contract or union agreement to the contrary, a company can set the conditions of the workplace much as it sees fit. This includes how many hours to schedule a worker.
