if I started a web site and blog and want to put other peoples articles from other sites on mine, can I copy and paste the article and use a source from were I got it?
Or do I just post the link and maybe say in my blog here is a great article and copy and paste the source. I don’t want to do anything illegal.

I suggest just placing a link to the article that you may refer to as opposed to simply taking another person's article without his or her permission. The reason for such is that the former as opposed to the latter may help avoid a copyright infringement claim.
