Absent a court order to the contrary, one spoue may drop the other spouse from their insurance coverage. The fact is that there is no law that requires a person to obtain insurance coverage for their spouse.

Yes, a spouse can drop you from his insurance, unless there is a court order (such as issued in the context of a pending or ongoing divorce) to the contrary. Otherwise, there is no law or other legal obligation requiring a spouse to insure his or her spouse. If you have been separated that long and no longer live in th same state, it is time for you to talk to a family law or matrimonial attorney about divorcing, since in a divorce, you can protect your rights and interests.
