I’m 21 and recently started a job as a resident assistant at a private rehab center. I received no type of training except shadowing another RA my first day. After that I was on my own. On my 3rd day, a girl checked herself in to the rehab center. We knew each other as we dated the same guy once. Later I texted the old boyfriend and said I ran into your girlfriend. I never named the rehab center or gave details. Her family later called in and said an employee was spreading around that she was there. I was fired on the spot with no warnings. I had no idea I did anything wrong. Is this wrongful termination of any type? I loved this job and needed it. I never would have done anything that I thought would get me fired.

Unless you had protection under the terms of an employment contract or union agreement, you were an "at will" worker. This means that you could gave been fired for any reason or no reason at all, with or without notice. The fact is that a business can set the conditions of work much as it sees fit, absent some form of legally actionable discrimination.
