What to do if the executor is withholding a distribution?
My grandmother has survived her husband. She was left money from his estate. The executor is withholding distribution in the hopes that she pass pass away before he has to pay. She is old and not well, but has survived her husband for a week at this point. Is this legal, how long can he stall, what happens to the money when she dies?

Did he have a will? The estate must go to probate. This can take months. Creditors must be notified and paid first.
