I recently received a letter of probable cause from the ERD but have no lawyer should I send a certified letter to company to try to reach compensation or wait for the ALJ hearing date and just see what happens

It's always better tohave legal representation on something like this from the start. There are possible actions and strategies that can be implemented now that will best protect your interests. At least set up an initial meeting with an attorney to talk this all over. You can then decide how best to proceed after you consult with them.
