It's time to get a lawyer.  It's true that your statement and your wife's were inconsistent, about the distance you left between your car and the truck, but that difference doesn't mean anything here, I'd say.  Your attorney will want to see the police reports, any written statement copies you have, letters from the insurance company, and the rest of the paperwork and the facts, to give you reliable advice.
