I am assuming that this has to do with a security deposit, no?  In Oregon a security deposit can be used for payemtn of rent as well as damages over and above normal wear and tear. So either you have not gotten the security back or you used it for the last month's rent and there is none, correct?  In the law in Oregon regarding security deposits the landlord must give a written acounting of the damage that is to be deducted.  But with out knowing more here I do not know if tht applies to your situation.  I am going to give you a link to the statute.  Good luck.
