Do you have to be alive for a certain amount of time after you sign a quit claim deed in order for it to be legitimate?
My grandpa signed a quit claim deed 2 months before passing away while he was on a lot of
medication from being sick. Would this be valid?

Assuming he was mentally competent when he signed and was not tricked (fraud) or coerced (duress) into signing it, the deed became effective on signing. (Or rather: it became eligible to be effective on signing; it has to be filed with the county for full effect.) There is no requirement the person executing the quit claim has to live for any length or period of time after signing it. Speak with a probate attorney about how to get the deed registered/filed.
